Canadian Scottish Regiment Mural – Work in Progress
It’s been a long journey and we’re finally getting close to the final image. Amazing artist Ken Bishop pitched in to paint the 4 VC winners. Here’s a look at version 1 of the candidate image for the Final Mural. And the original sketch created in January of 2012. I still have some polish to do and possibly some additional work on the Vimy Memorial and soldiers on the right side.

No qualms re: Metcalf carrying the Red Ensign. (I am especially sympathetic to him as I am a US citizen – born of Canadian parents. And have recently reclaimed my Canadian Citizenship. I am a dual-ly now!)
This art is close to my heart. It’s given me a great opportunity to honor the valour and history of this great regiment.
In my previous life as an Art Director for Electronic Arts, I worked on the game: Medal of Honor: European Assault. At the end of that game there is a ‘roll call’ list of the mothers, fathers, grandmothers, grandfathers, uncles and aunts of the game team, who served in World War 2. That list includes the names of several members of the Canadian Armed Forces, including my father, Gordon A. Loose who was an artilleryman in the Royal Canadian Army.
